Procrastination.

The opportunities are out there for you to let your dream become reality, it’s just waiting to see when and how badly you want to change.

Jen Sincero, You Are A Badass at Making Money

What brought you here? How did you stumble upon this page? Something in you is searching for something more. We all feel this deep rooted seed that we were made to live to a greater potential than the life we are currently living. What’s holding us back? I can say for myself, that procrastination is probably one of my biggest obstacles to achieve the success I KNOW I’m worth.

Procrastination. It’s ever-burdening little monster in the back of our head. We know we may want something, or we may know we have to do something but what if we just had 5 more minutes looking at Facebook? What if we just lay down for a nap for 15 minutes? “I have time….yeah….I have time.”

The amount of times I have done this the past couple years, heck all my life, is countless. If I didn’t play that new game on my phone, watch that TV show, or hang out with my cats because they’re so cuddly and cute, what could I have been doing today versus 5 years ago? How could my life had changed if I took all those minutes and used them to achieve the task at hand? Could I have accomplished goals I’ve been setting over and over, year after year? Would I have done something completely cool and awesome that I will remember for the rest of my life? Could I have met my soul-mate earlier?

It’s time we sucked it up and admitted, we all fall to the hand of procrastination one-time or another. Just say it with me, “I am a procrastinator!”

Ah, there it is! Doesn’t that feel better admitting it?

Now— do you want to continue wasting the life you are given, or to get out of your comfort zone, push yourself a little bit more, and live the life you want to live?

It’s time we make that little extra effort. It’s time we give ourself a little more credit for what we are capable of and allow ourselves to go and do that thing we’ve been dreading to do.

If you think about the top item on your to-do list, is it really that hard? Probably not. Most of the items that we dread doing are just a little time consuming, or maybe something we haven’t done before. Maybe you need to take 15 minutes to wash the dishes in your kitchen. Okay, so do it and feel refreshed that that task is done with and the kitchen looks great! Do you need to make some calls? Okay, set a timer on your phone or computer and get to it. Tell yourself, if you spend the next 20 minutes making calls you can reward yourself with a cup of coffee or to stretch your legs and breathe. Making a phone call may not be hard, but getting that extra energy to do something that may not sound like fun, just feels like work! Think about it though, if you just got it done and over with, could you be one step closer to your goal? Could you stop thinking about what you had to do all day or even all week, and focus on other priorities or even relax without the pestering thought in the back of your head? I bet you could.

Let’s chase our opportunities just a little harder, every day, and see what we can make of it, shall we?
